Home Remedies for Yeast Infection – I have a sister who is prone to yeast infections. They usually occur after she has started a round of antibiotics. Let’s face it, having a yeast infection is every woman’s worst nightmare. You are one of the lucky ones if you have not had this unpleasant experience occur.
4 Home Remedies for Yeast Infection
Based on my sister’s experience and my own, I have investigated and tried some home remedies for yeast infection, and these are the four home remedies that may help you.
Probiotics
I remember the first time I found relief while I was visiting my local natural foods store and a very helpful employee told me about probiotics. This would be considered a natural cure one of a few that I would suggest you try to gain relief.
Probiotics are a great natural remedy for yeast infection. They are live microbial organisms that are naturally present in the digestive tract and vagina. Probiotics, which are the friendly bacteria, suppress the growth of candida, which is why probiotic supplements have been explored as a natural remedy for yeast infection.
When my sister takes an antibiotic it will kill off a lot of the harmful bacteria as well as the good. A great option to try when you are taking an antibiotic is one hour afterward you take a probiotic so that after the bad bacteria are eliminated you can replenish the good bacteria that you need to stay in balance. This is a fantastic and effective cure.
Boric Acid
Another remedy that I have yet to try but have heard is effective is boric acid. Boric acid is a substance with mild antiseptic and antifungal properties. Sounds like it would be effective to me!
Oil of Oregano
One that has a similar property to the antifungal is oil of oregano. This is a staple at my home because of all the wonderful cleansing properties contained in the oil. This really packs a punch. It has been very effective at controlling candida. Even when a yeast infection is not present it is not a bad idea to keep candida in check. It is tough to swallow. I usually gulp it down by placing a small amount of orange juice in the back of my throat and then placing a few drops there and swallowing it down without having to touch it to my tongue.
Garlic
The last treatment that I have tried is to place a peeled garlic clove as a suppository overnight. This seems to work well and my uncomfortable burning and itching symptoms are gone the next morning.
Whatever you decide to try know that relief can be yours by following a few simple natural cures that you may already have in your pantry at home. Good luck with these home remedies for yeast infection!
